As example at your IT workplace this tool comes quite handy when setting up many PCs at once.
But the problem starts right there. Most companies turn off the internal Windows Firewall in order to use certain services or manage their PCs without a problem and then use an external hardware firewall and/or an Anti-virus program that offers an external firewall. Either way, once the Windows Firewall is turned off Mouse Without Borders won’t install properly anymore.
This happens due to the way the installer is programmed. It’s trying to open a port in the Windows Firewall but fails to do so since it’s turned off and not working. That’s the meaning of “Error 1603”.

There’s a simple fix for this and the short description is: Temporarily turn on Windows Firewall.

I can’t really put a step by step tutorial here since many companies disable the internal firewall on a different way. Usually this can be fixed by starting the Windows Firewall service and after the setup to disable it again.

Anyways, I hope this helped a little bit!

Mouse Without Borders is a really great tool if you’re using more than just one PC around you.
