Or maybe you want to delete a file or folder but Windows won&#8217;t let you.<\/p>\n<p>There are lots of programs trying to help you here but most of those are either dubious looking or have some ad-ware installer. But there&#8217;s a far better and still free way, directly from Microsoft!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/sysinternals\/processexplorer.aspx\">Process Explorer<\/a>&#8220;, an official Microsoft Tool<\/li>\n<li>Extract the ZIP file<\/li>\n<li>Open &#8220;<em>procexp.exe<\/em>&#8221; or &#8220;<em>procexp64.exe<\/em>&#8221; as Administrator (if in doubt use first one)<\/li>\n<li>Press &#8220;Ctrl&#8221; + &#8220;F&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Type the file or folders name in the search bar<\/li>\n<li>Click on the result at the bottom<\/li>\n<li>The main window will come to front with the according file selected<\/li>\n<li>Right-Click it and choose &#8220;Close Handle&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Done!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s as simple as that!
